7-20-22   THOUGHTS

We are unwise to stay away from the 119th Psalm for too long.  David shares his joy and zeal in pursuing God’s WORD.  He sees that WISDOM FROM GOD  for what it truly is...  THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE!  From wisdom to the  “Living Water”, God’s WORD heralds all BLESSING!  Try to absorb David’s  “need and enthusiasm” about partaking in this word.  Read of the GOOD that is promised in the KEEPING OF THE KNOWING!  It is no wonder that God said His New Covenant would be WRITTEN ON OUR HEARTS!  This is no  “Ho Hum” thinking we are involved in this morning!  It is the difference between life and death. This is of “he that hath ears to hear” importance!  O Soul, learn the joy that David learned,  as you read this chapter over and over, frequently!  We need it desperately!

Ps 119:9-24       How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. 10  With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. 11  Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. 12  Blessed are You, O LORD; Teach me Your statutes. 13  With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. 14  I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15  I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. 16  I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word. 17   Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word. 18   Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law. 19   I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me. 20   My soul is crushed with longing After Your ordinances at all times. 21   You rebuke the arrogant, the cursed, Who wander from Your commandments. 22   Take away reproach and contempt from me, For I observe Your testimonies. 23   Even though princes sit and talk against me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes. 24   Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my counselors.
Jer 6:10    To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the LORD has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.
Josh 1:8    "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Prov 6:20-23     My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;  21  Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck. 22  When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.  23  For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life
Col 3:16   Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms [and] hymns [and] spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

My Prayer:
O God, You have given, may we partake bountifully and joyfully. Help us to pursue powerfully with all zeal, Your awesome wisdom.  Remove all hindrances of this world that push us toward complacency and nothingness.  In Jesus name,       Amen.
